With this service, we check the details of your manuscript including references, indexes, the table of contents, and data mentioned in text and diagrams. We will also note down general style choices like language (e.g., American vs. British), word consistency, formatting (e.g., bold vs. italic), and punctuation (e.g., Oxford comma) issues. While we might fix some syntax, word choice, grammatical, and punctuation issues on the go, typically, a proofreader will give the final "finishing touch" to a manuscript after the consistency check is completed. If you think your manuscript still needs major textual changes, check out our developmental editing service. If you think the manuscript is finished and just needs some polishing in terms of overall flow, we also offer less time-intensive copy editing services. If you are still rearranging major parts of your manuscript or need help to organize the main message of your book, we can help you brainstorm and focus your ideas.

Additional notes:

The cost depends on the number of pages and the frequency of indexes, references, and data in the text.
If applicable, we can also provide suggestions for additional improvements for future editions of the book.
While checking for consistency, we track changes to your manuscript, which you can accept or reject (please note that this might require conversion into a different document format).

- During the meeting, we will discuss what steps are required to reach your goal.
- If you do not have a goal yet, that is fine, too. We can discuss various topics; you select what path to pursue.

- If you are happy with the session, you can book individual coaching sessions.
